$26.00

Pure, traditionally rendered pork lard from pasture-raised pigs. Rich in essential vitamins A, D, E, K, B12 and Zinc — perfect for flaky pastry, crispy roast potatoes, sautéing, and traditional baked goods. Ancestral flavour and nourishment in every spoonful.

Our lard is sourced directly from La'Connor Ridge, a beautiful regenerative farm with pasture-raised pigs. They also offer amazing pastured pork boxes — if you're interested, send them a message.

Lard was once a staple in many cultures for its health properties and high smoke point. Scientific research shows lard is a nutrient-rich fat that supports heart health, vitamin absorption, hormone production, and overall wellness.

Key Health Benefits

Heart Health & Fatty Acid Profile

Lard can help raise HDL (high-density lipoprotein) cholesterol, which supports cardiovascular function. Unlike hydrogenated vegetable oils, natural lard contains no artificial trans fats, making it a safer choice for cooking. Its fatty acid composition (48% monounsaturated, 40% saturated, 12% polyunsaturated) is essential for hormone production, inflammation management, and cellular repair.

Rich in Fat-Soluble Vitamins

Pasture-raised lard is a rich source of vitamins A, D, E, and K — particularly vitamin D, which is crucial for immune function, bone health, and mood regulation.

CLA & Immune Support

The presence of conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) in lard may support immune function and healthy body composition.

Omega-3s & Brain Health

Lard from pasture-raised pigs contains omega-3 fatty acids, which can help reduce inflammation. Healthy fats in lard are essential for brain function, memory, mood regulation, and hormone synthesis.

High-Heat Stable

Lard is stable at high heat, making it ideal for frying and roasting without producing harmful free radicals.

“The Lard is another great product and I'm using it in my cooking regularly where I would have previously used vegetable oil for roasting vegies, frying meats and vegies. I'm looking forward to trying it out the next time I make pastry as it's a very versatile product with a mild flavour. I particularly like knowing that there has been no chemical processing in the production. And what's even better – it's locally produced!!”

“I've also been really impressed with the beef tallow and pork lard for cooking. They're fantastic, nourishing, versatile cooking fats and have quickly become staples in my kitchen. I love being able to use traditional, wholesome fats for everything from cooking to roasting.”
